Live Below Water

What contribution can IT solutions make?
IT solutions can play a key role in protecting the oceans by being used to monitor and analyze marine ecosystems. Through digital technologies such as satellite monitoring, sensors and big data, we can better track the extent of pollution, the state of coral reefs and the health of marine biodiversity. In addition, IT-based platforms allow us to share research data and promote international collaboration to improve ocean conservation globally.
Our criteria for an SDG project "Software for a better world"
14a - Reduce marine pollution:
The project helps companies and organizations reduce marine pollution by, for example, providing metrics or data or ensuring compliance with regulations.
14b - Protect ecosystems:
The project helps to protect and preserve seas and coasts, as well as their ecosystems, for example by regulating overfishing, preventing chemical accidents that could affect marine and coastal areas, or educating people about the protection of these ecosystems.
14c - Promote research:
The project supports research to gain a better understanding of the ocean and its ecosystem or to explore new technologies that protect our oceans and coasts.
14d - Operational support for third parties:
The project supports companies and institutions, as well as other organizations such as aid agencies or associations, in implementing their SDG goals by supporting employees in their daily work and simplifying, accelerating or introducing business-relevant, SDG-related processes.
